This is life.

You decide that your waist band is getting to tight so you make a goal of loosing weight. The very next day you choose oatmeal without brown sugar and coffee without creamer. You put your workout clothes on and do the 30 minutes of exercise that is recommended. When lunch comes you eat a salad with dressing on the side and you make a deal that your in bed by 9pm. Day one is over.

How familiar does this day sound? Day one is always so easy,  but do not be fooled day two comes and life happens. Even the best made plans go crazy when your invited to coffee with a friend and there staring at you is a homemade cinnamon roll. You tell yourself “I will work this off,” and you eat every bite. After coffee and after your sugar rush has left you tired, hungry and cranky you can’t find the strength to workout or plan that meal of grilled chicken, brown rice, and fresh fruit. You go to bed feeling defeated and unable to stay the path.

So what do you or I do when life happens?

I’ve been loosing weight sense my daughter was born, 2.5 years ago. It has been a long hard battle and I’ve had many days feeling defeated. For myself I have resolved long ago that time will pass and I am forever on a journey to reach my goal. When bad days happen I commit to the process again, and again until slowly but surely the goal is met.

Life does happen but choose to stay the course no matter what. When you finally “get there” you’ll look back and declare “that wasn’t so bad.”

That’s the way to go Rebecca. :) I know how frustrating losing weight feels and it can get discouraging at times when you feel like you’ve walked one step forward and two steps back.

But as long as you keep taking action, you’ll have nowhere else to go but move forward to achieving your goal. You will get there. :)

Have a happy weekend ahead. :)
